How was your sleep last night?
Why do I wake up at 3am? A question many people ask - the answer can be many reasons, but here's the good news - there's something that can be done. Following a good routine can always help.
If you find it hard to go to sleep and / or wake up during the night, then here's some great tips on how to sleep better.
- NOTHING to eat or drink within two hours of going to bed.
- Use one of the diffusers from this website in your bedroom.
- Have blackout blinds fitted in the bedroom.
- A light spray with one of the Sleep Better pillow mists from this website onto your pillow - usually, a light spray on each corner is enough.
- Even with the blackout blinds above, still use an eye mask.
- Have a bedroom window open a little (where safe to do so)
- Ensure all noise is kept to an absolute minimum, or zero if you can!
- VERY important, it's NEVER about what time you go to sleep, it's ALWAYS about consistently waking up at the same time every morning, 7 days a week.
The occasional night of poor sleep may not be too bad, but if your sleep is less than 7 hours a night for more than 50% of the time it could lead to something more serious: for example, Ghrelin, known as the hunger hormone, has been shown to be adversely affected by poor quality sleep, with research showing that sleep-deprived adults tend to have higher ghrelin levels, which often leads to more hunger than usual, and less feeling of fullness compared to adults who get 7 to 9 hours of sleep, so when you find yourself reaching for that mid-morning snack, this could be why and can very easily lead to obesity and / or diabetes.
Something else to bear in mind is that if you don't sleep properly, the following could also happen to you: memory problems, tiredness, dizziness, headaches, depression, irritability, diabetes, unable to concentrate, weight gain. Do any of these ring a bell with you?
There can be many reasons for not sleeping well, including insomnia, snoring, menopause, fibromyalgia etc, etc, these are the usual reasons, but, the solutions to sleeping issues don't need to be the 'usual'! Many people world-wide are now realising that it can be possible for a more natural, more successful way to get good sleep, rather than taking sleeping tablets and other pills.
Sleep aromatherapy works great for people wanting to sleep better and the Sleep Better pillow mist and Sleep Better diffusers on this website are helping many people globally to sleep better. Is it now time for you to find out more?
